There were parts in \"One Tribe\" that were very representative of life in VA Beach. It was fun to find allusions to places that I visit regularly and to people I know. Other parts I wasn\'t so sure of. A lot of the book dealt with dramatizations of activities and groups that I wasn\'t completely familiar with. The book was set during the time when I was pretty college-centric so I don\'t feel that I\'m a qualified judge. I do believe that Evelina did capture the essence and flavor of our area. (Of course, I am biased, since I know her personally and she did mention my circle of friends in the book\'s dedication.)
